Right in
the heart of Southern California, Inland Empire residents can snow
ski in the mountains, motocross in the desert and surf in the Pacific
Ocean-all in the same day!
A region of diverse landscapes
stretching from the panoramic vistas of the High Desert to the rolling
hills of the Temecula Valley, it includes snow-capped mountains,
lush valleys, wind-blown sand dunes, and unlimited recreation in
the air, on land and water.
You'll find a wide range of adventure
experiences, including rock climbing, skydiving, hang gliding, and
hot air ballooning. Boating, sailing, fishing, water and jet-skiing,
and parasailing can be experienced on the Inland Empire lakes.
For golfers, the Inland Empire
is Southern California golf at its finest. The consistent weather
allows for year-round golf, and the more than 100 golf courses within
its borders allows for a wide variety of play. An added plus of
golf in the Inland Empire is the green fees, which are consistently
well below courses in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
The Inland Empire has a temperate,
Mediterranean climate, with moderate winters, warm summers, and
generally low humidity. Monthly highs range from sixty-six (66°)
degrees in the winter to nineth-four (94°) degrees in the summer.
The average annual rainfall ranges from 3.14 inches a year in the
Coachella Valley, to 9.92 a year in the urban regions.
Few areas of California feature
the extraordinary array of tourist attractions, fairs and concerts,
and outdoors activities that take place in the Inland Empire. There
are professional minor league baseball teams, equestrian events,
and locations for Indian Gaming. |
